Photonics Event 2018

Fantastic PhotonicsEvent 2018

We look back to a very successful PhotonicsEvent 2018. On 19 June The Gallery in Enschede was filled up with a large photonics audience. From the opening by Ron van der Kolk and Benno Oderkerk to the last minute of the conference and exhibition, the atmosphere was fantastic and everyone felt involved with the event.
Over 200 visitors had been offered a very divers program, including a broadly oriented conference with a fantastic presentation of our key note Kees Buijsrogge (TNO), and a very interesting presentation of our second key note Benjamin Miller (University of Rochester Medical Center), an exhibition with a mixture of companies, several photonics related workshops, a very well-attended Women in Photonics Lunch and an excellent winner of the Best Poster Prize, with a majority of votes, Laura van Huizen of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam with her poster titled ‘Assessment of fresh breast tumor tissue using higher harmonic generation microscopy’. You can read more about this very interesting topic in our Fotonica Magazine of October 2018, where she has written an article about it.

We thank all the visitors, participants, speakers and students for this fantastic event! We already look forward to the 2019 edition.
